  • SONG AND PIANO RECITALS

This season there will be five major concerts with a few of the most prestigious artists of our time. In non-chronological order, Nina Stemme who is appearing for the first time in Strasbourg, leaves aside for one evening her great tragic heroines and offers us songs from a more intimate repertoire ; Patricia Petibon, whose appearances as Blonde in the Entführung aus dem Seraglio, as Sister Constance in the Dialogues des Carmélites and as Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos in this very opera house, almost ten years later, are still alive in our memories, is at long last returning to us, as is Marie-Nicole Lemieux, whose success here two seasons ago in Les Troyens is still fresh in our memories. And two duos complete this panorama of the world of Lieder and of melody : Karine Deshayes and Stéphane Degout in a French repertoire, followed by Sophie Karthäuser and Stephan Loges, who will be tackling the monumental Spanisches Liederbuch by Wolf.
Coming on to the piano recitals, we welcome the young generation of French players with two poets of the piano : Cédric Tiberghien in a programme of Brahms, Janáček and Bartók, and Alexandre Tharaud performing the complete works for piano of Ravel, which we greatly look forward to.
